"The Invisible War" Documentary
The "American Association of University Women" in conjunction with Lake County Public Library is presenting "The Invisible War," a groundbreaking investigative documentary about the epidemic of rape within the U.S. military. The film follows the stories of several idealistic young servicewomen who were betrayed by their own officers when they courageously came forward to report the crime against them. It also features hard-hitting interviews with high-ranking military officials and members of Congress, revealing the perfect storm of conditions that exist for rape in the military, its long-hidden history, and what can be done to bring about much-needed change. Refreshments will be served and all are invited to join a moderated discussion after viewing the film. Registration is not required.
