Wings of Freedom Tour 2013

Three of the most famous WWII bomber and fighter aircraft will be visiting the Porter County Regional Airport July 29-31 as part of the Collings Foundation's “Wings of Freedom Tour.” Tour the beautifully restored aircraft for $12 for adults, $6 for children and free for WWII veterans. Take to the skies yourself in an ultimate half-hour flight experience aboard the B-17 Flying Fortress or B-24 Liberator for $425. Get some “stick time” in the world’s only Dual Control P-51C Mustang for $2,200 for a half hour and $3,200 for a full hour. Tours will take place from  noon to 5 p.m. July 29; from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 30; and from 9 a.m. to noon July 31. Flights are a tax-deductible donation and take place before and after tour times.
