South Shore Roller Girls Derby 101
Sundays in January beginning January 7
PORTAGE, IN, (12/13/2017) – Are you looking for a new and exciting workout and sport? Come try out roller derby. Now is the time to lace up some skates and learn alongside the South Shore Roller Girls. South Shore Roller Girls Derby 101 will be hosted in 4 sessions. Each session will be from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM at NEO Adult Education Center, located at 5201 US Hwy 6 in Portage, Indiana every Sunday January.
Not sure if roller derby is for you? Come try it out. You can attend one or all of the sessions. The cost is only $5 per person/per session. Sessions will include the basics of roller skating and roller derby game play. Prospective skaters and referees will also have the chance to interact with league members and ask questions about the sport including skates, safety gear, cost, commitment, etc. Skates and safety gear are provided, but if you have your own feel free to bring it, and bring a friend!

Founded in July 2013, South Shore Roller Girls (SSRG) is  Northwest Indiana’s premier women’s flat track roller derby league. We strive to improve individual athleticism, character, and community while promoting team unity. Our program provides training, instruction, and competition all geared to represent SSRG at a local and national level. We are dedicated to providing community outreach through events, activities, sponsorship, and volunteering. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation.
