The I Too Sing America Org  of NWI in collaboration with EC Lakeshore Black Expo and the Concerned Calumet Citizens Committee are in the midst of planning a Citywide candle light vigil in commemoration of the 2018 Martin Luther King Holiday celebration. This event will kick off at 6 a.m. at East Chicago Unity Plaza at 138th and Main Street followed by a Drum major award celebration at the East Chicago Boys and Girls Club,. Awards will be presented to North Township Trustee Frank Mrvan Jr., Rev. Cheryl Rivera of Federation of Interfaith Organization, Juan Fernandez of We the People and the Foundations of East Chicago. Following the ceremony a free breakfast will be held at the Martin Luther King Community Centre  4801 Meliville St.  All are invited to participate as we celebrate the Man, his Life and his legacy together.
