January 10-February 9
Barker Mansion will host “The Great War: From Ration Lines to the Front Lines”, one of the Indiana Historical Society’s traveling exhibits, from January 10 to February 9, 2018. The exhibit, which showcases Indiana's contributions to the war effort and the war's long-lasting effects, will be on display in the mansion’s lower level. With “The Great War”, visitors will see how Hoosiers experienced the First World War in distinct ways. While those of German heritage faced discrimination, African Americans and women pointed to their wartime contributions years later while advocating for social and political rights. Watch for supplemental activities at the mansion, including special tours and lectures to be held during this time.
