Matthew Zaradich, 33, and Benjamin Tyson, 25, of Chicago, Illinois, were engaged to be married on Friday, April 1. Zaradich comes from Hobart, and Tyson comes from Leesburg, Florida.
Zaradich’s parents are Joan Zaradich, of Hobart, and Joseph Zaradich (deceased). Tyson’s parents are Gail Tyson, of Leesburg, Florida, and Jim Tyson (deceased).
Zaradich is assistant director of continuing education at Erikson Institute, the premier graduate school in early childhood development. He is heavily involved in activism and advocacy for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community, as well as fundraising for cancer related programs. He is a graduate of Indiana University (B.A. 2004)
Tyson is account executive at Echo Global Logisitics, one of the largest logistics firms in the world. Previously, he was an Animal Care Specialist at Shedd Aquarium, where he worked with dogs, dolphins, and whales, in both training and care. He is a graduate of Florida State University (B.A. 2011).
They are both members of All Saints’ Episcopal Church in Chicago.
The couple plans to marry in summer 2017.
