Colors fit to be tied
For only a buck, they brought their shirts and elbow grease as nearly 50 children and adults gathered Thursday to tie, dip, rinse and repeat during the annual tie-dye event at the South Haven branch of the Porter County Public Library. "It's a lot of fun," said Kathy Blackburn, head of youth services at the library. "I love it, and I think everybody loves it," she said, as children and adults dipped shirts tied off with rubber bands on one color, then into clear water rinse from one 5-gallon bucket to the next. The event included seven colors this year. "They're all unique," Blackburn said of the shirts.
