The Illiana Christian girls volleyball team finished second at the Rich South Invitational on Saturday.
Lincoln-Way West beat the Vikings 25-14, 26-24. Morton East beat Crete-Monee 25-21, 25-22 for third place.
Illiana Christian won both of its pool play matches, then beat Eisenhower and Crete-Monee in the playoff round.
Illiana's Katie Larson and Breanna Vanderwall made the all-tournament team as did Crete-Monee's Brittney Camili and Maya Topps.
Boys Cross Country
Reavis Invitational | Marian Catholic's Nate Bodnar was 14th overall (16:35) as the Spartans fnished 12th with 312 points.
Sandburg won (106 points). Homewood-Flossmoor was 10th (249) and Bloom Twp. 11th.
Girls Golf
Bishoop McNamara Invitational | Homewood-Flossmoor's Ashley Armstrong was medalist with a 72 as the Vikings won a 309.
Lauren Dawson shot a 77, followed by Michelle Mayer's 78. Sarah Armstrong shot an 82.
Girls Cross Country
Christian Schools Invitational | Illiana Christian's Chloe Porter was 11th overall (20:53) as the Vikings finished fourth with 91 points in Michigan.
Teammate Kaitlin Holesinger was 16th (21:08) and Cassi Russell was 19th (21:27).
Reavis Invitational | Marian Catholic was seventh overall with 267 points, while Lyons Twp. won (29 points).
Marian's Jacqueline Silverman was 47th (21:43).
Boys Golf
Providence Catholic Invitational | Mt. Carmel's Bobby Sloan was third overall with a 72, but Providence won its own meet with 304 strokes.
Homewood-Flossmoor was 12th (323), Mt. Carmel 14th (327), Illiana Christian 20th (344) and Marian Catholic 22nd (348).
Illiana's Jon Zandstra shot a 78.
Boys Soccer
Illinois Lutheran 1, Herscher 1 | Jonathan Clayton scored with an assist from Chris Falk as the Chargers (6-2-1) tied with the Tigers.
Girls Swimming
Shepard Invitational | Thornton Fractional's Annie Zupan was second in the 500-yard freestyle (6:04.51) as the team finished seventh with 138 points.
Oak Forest won with 393 points.
Football
Milwaukee Marshall 34, St. Francis deSales 16 | The Pioneers (1-2) fell to the Eagles in Milwaukee.
Englewood 28, Washington 6 | The Minutemen fell to 0-3 overall in dropping their Chicago Public League Inter City-2 opener.
