Casino ownership: A story in Thursday's edition should have said Harrah's, a division of Caesar's Entertainment of Las Vegas, Nev., is appealing to reduce a 10-year-old property tax assessment on a hotel, now owned by Ameristar Casino Hotel in East Chicago. The appeal challenges Lake County's assessment of the hotel's worth for taxing purposes in 2003, when it was operating under the Harrah's brand name. Ameristar, the current hotel owner, acquired it years later.
