Correction: Information about fans incorrect

2012-11-30T00:00:00Z Correction: Information about fans incorrect nwitimes.com

In a story in some Thursday editions about the Crete-Monee High School football team's pep rally, inaccurate information about the number of fans attending the state championship game was attributed to Principal Michael Dugan. The correct statement is: "This accomplishment is unlike any other — it is momentous. Most of the 4,000 plus fans that attended the game aren’t our students — they were alumni, teachers, employees or residents. They didn’t go to school with our team but they feel bound in their accomplishment." A second comment regarding hometown pride should have said: "Most of our town’s residents could not attend the game but they have our flag outside their home." The Times regrets the error.
