The potential state revenue impact of Gov. Mike Pence's proposal to increase the dependent exemption for income tax filers was misstated in some editions Friday. Raising the exemption to $3,600 from $1,000 would exempt $4.16 billion of income from tax. Multiplying that total by Indiana's 3.4 percent income tax rate results in a state revenue decrease of $141.5 million. The Times regrets the error.
