Broadway in Chicago has opened "The Humans" in Chicago.

"The Humans" runs through Feb. 11 at The Cadillac Palace Theatre. The play tells the story about an American middle-class family and their personal conflicts, relationships and interactions. It all takes place over a family Thanksgiving dinner.

The play, written by Stephen Karam, earned the Tony Award for Best Play in 2016 and also won the 2016 New York Drama Critics Award for Best Play, among other accolades.

The national tour of "The Humans" stars Richard Thomas, of "The Waltons" fame; Pamela Reed; Luis Vega; Daisy Eagan; Lauren Klein; and Therese Plaehn.

'Brodsky/Baryshnikov' opens this week

Cherry Orchard Festival brings the Chicago premiere of the play "Brodsky/Baryshnikov" to Chicago Friday through Sunday at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance in Chicago.

The production is co-produced by The New Riga Theatre and Baryshnikov Productions. It's directed by Alvis Hermanis and is a one-man show based on the poems of Nobel Laureate Joseph Brodsky. Baryshnikov will star in the show that will be performed in Russian with English subtitles. FYI:  Tickets are $45 to $150. Call 312-334-7777.

Round up the kids for 'Disney on Ice'

Disney on Ice's "Dare to Dream" production will be performed at The United Center through Sunday and then returns to The Allstate Arena Feb. 7 through 11.

The skating production stars the stories of Disney princesses and other Disney tales. Featured will be vignettes from "Beauty and The Beast," "Cinderella," "Frozen," and "Tangled," starring Rapunzel. Ice fans also will see "Moana" for the first time in the "Dare to Dream" show.

Def Leppard/Journey tour announced

Def Leppard and Journey will kick off their co-headlining North American tour on May 21. The groups will perform at Chicago's Wrigley Field on July 14. Tickets for the concert go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Feb. 17. Fan presales begin at noon Feb. 12. There also will be VIP packages available.
