Nestled within the industry-strewn section of the Region lies East Chicago's historic Marktown neighborhood. It's a small island surrounded by some of the heaviest industry in North America. As of a few years ago, the impending presence of the BP Whiting refinery has bought up and razed several properties, putting some residents on edge for what the community's future will be.
