Shelby Volunteer Fire Department is hosting its annual pork chop dinner from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the fire station, 23218 Shelby Road. Cost is $9 for two chops and $7 for one chop with the dinner. Proceeds will be used for additional equipment and gear for the Shelby Fire Department.

Road Hog Corvette Club presents its third annual Road Hog Car Show today at Buddy and Pals, on Randolph Street, just north of 109th Avenue. Registration, which costs $15, is from noon to 4 p.m., with the show starting at 1 p.m. Trophies and awards will be given out at 6 p.m. All Corvettes, street rods, trucks and U.S. muscle cars are welcome; no imports. A beer garden, food and music will be available throughout the event.

Miller Garden Club holds its annual walk from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. today and Sunday, rain or shine. The ninth annual tour, Secret Gardens: Red, White & Blooming, begins at the aquatorium in Marquette Park along the southern shore of Lake Michigan. Free bus transportation will be provided from the aquatorium to each garden site but will end at 2 p.m. A guided bicycle tour starts at 10:30 a.m. today. Tickets cost $6 in advance and $7 that day. Lunch will be available from the Miller Bakery Cafe for $8. Puerto Rican Parade and Cultural Organization of NWI Inc. presents a two-day Puerto Rican Cultural Festival and Parade on July 19 and 20 at Tod Park, 140th Street and McShane Avenue. Parade lines up at 10 a.m. July 20 at Club Ki-Yowga, 152nd and Indianapolis Boulevard, and parade begins at noon, heading north to Columbus Drive.
