Disney's princesses and other beloved characters are in the spotlight now in the Chicago-area production of "Disney on Ice: Dream Big."

"Dream Big" continues through Sunday at The Allstate Arena in Rosemont.

For skater Morgan Bell, it's an honor to be bringing one of her favorite characters to life on ice.

"I'm fortunate enough to be playing Anna from 'Frozen.' It's been a lot of fun," said Bell. The skater, who lived in Naperville, Illinois for awhile while she was training in the skating art, said she's excited to be performing in the Chicago area.

"It's pretty cool," she said, adding that family, friends and old coaches may be attending the show.

In "Disney on Ice: Dream Big" audience members will meet princesses Snow White, Cinderella, Belle, Ariel, Tiana, Rapunzel, Aurora and Jasmine as they embark on adventures and chase their dreams. In addition, "Frozen" will be featured in the show.

Other Disney characters such as Mickey and Minnie, Tinker Bell and others will also make appearances.

Bell said there are eight Disney on Ice shows currently on the touring roster. "And every show is unique in its own way."

The skater has enjoyed being a part of the Disney on Ice troupe of performers. "The cast has become like a family," she said, adding they often have dinners together.

Bell added that performing as Anna has been a real joy. "To play a character that (the audience) loves is great. The little girls get excited to see (her). It's very special."

Bell has been skating for 21 years. "And I've been playing Anna in Disney on Ice for four years," she said. The first Disney on Ice show Bell saw as a youngster revolved around the story of "The Incredibles."

Traveling with the Disney troupe, Bell said, is a rewarding experience.

"We're pretty fortunate to be able to travel the way we do. To experience different places and different cultures is amazing."

Bell said Disney on Ice shows offer audiences the "opportunity to make family memories."
