There's a new dance consortium in Chicago and arts fans will have the opportunity to enjoy its work this weekend.
FlySpace, made up of four Chicago-area contemporary dance companies, headed by female directors, will present performances at 7 p.m. today and Saturday and 5 p.m. Sunday at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Chicago.
Dance companies that make up FlySpace are The Dance COLective, headed by Margi Cole; Hedwig Dances, headed by Jan Bartoszek; Same Planet Different World Dance Theatre, headed by Joanna Rosenthal, and Zephyr Dance, headed by Michelle Kranicke.
The dance series presented this weekend is part of Chicago Cultural Centers Presents, a program of the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events.
On the agenda today through Sunday will be "Moving Stories" and "My Sufi Tale" by Margi Cole. Michelle Kranicke of Zephyr will also debut a new contemporary work.
