Local dancer Carol Dilts, 13, of Gary's Miller Beach area, is appearing in The Joffrey Ballet's "The Nutcracker" this season.
'It's her first time," said Dilts' mom Megan Cecil. "I'm excited for her. She enjoys it so much."
Dilts, a student at Chesterton Middle School, also studies at the Joffrey Ballet school and Indiana Ballet Theatre. In "the Nutcracker," Dilts is performing as one of the mounted mice. The Joffrey Ballet's "Nutcracker" runs through Dec. 27 at The Auditorium Theatre, 50 E. Congress Parkway, Chicago. Tickets are $31 to $132. FYI: (800) 982-2787. - Eloise Marie Valadez
