'Tribute to Nina Simone'

South Shore Dance Alliance will present "A Tribute to Nina Simone" at 7 p.m. Friday at West Side School auditorium, Ninth Avenue and Gerry Street in Gary, and at 7 p.m. Saturday at IU Northwest Theatre, 3660 Grant St., Gary. Performances include a tribute to Michal Davis. Special guests will be Billy Foster and the Billy Foster Trio and Art Hoyle. Church hosts gaming night

Casino Royale, presented by St. James Church in Highland and Knights of Columbus No. 8082 in Dyer, will be from 6:10 p.m. to midnight Saturday at St. James, 45th Street and Kennedy Avenue. Attendees can play roulette, blackjack, mini craps, 21 plus 3, Caribbean stud, three card poker, Let-it-Ride, Money Wheel, Jokers Wild, Pokereno and live poker. Garland film will be shown

The documentary "Judy Garland: The Concert Years" will be shown at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Marshall J. Gardner Center for the Arts, 540 S. Lake St., Gary. The event will presented by the Miller Beach Arts and Creative District. Admission is $12 for a lecture by Larry Lapidus of the Lyric Opera of Chicago and the screening.
