'Brooklyn' musical on Towle stage

Hammond's Towle Theatre will present "Brooklyn The Musical" Friday through Sunday and July 19 to 21 and July 25 to 28 at the theater in downtown Hammond. The Towle is celebrating its 10th anniversary. Show times are 8 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays. Tickets are $17.

Don't miss 'Spelling Bee'

Theatre at the Center, 1040 Ridge Road, Munster, will present "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" from today to Aug. 18. Relax and laugh with Shakespeare in the Park

Chicago Street Theatre will present "The Comedy of Errors" as its Shakespeare in the Park offering Friday and Saturday at Central Park Plaza and July 19 to 27 at Chicago Street Theatre. The Central Park Plaza performances are free. Reserved seating is also available. Tickets must be purchased for the Chicago Street Theatre performances. Enjoy Second Saturday festivities

LaPorte will have its 2nd Saturday event from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday in downtown LaPorte, at State, Lincolnway and Jefferson avenues. The theme will be Music Mix. Musical trio Greek Tragedy will play at Thaddeus C. Gallery, while Rocco's Classic Gallery will feature steel guitarist Eddie Gossien. Temple News Agency will have duo Genna and Jesse.
