'Eve of Jackie' in spotlight
West Side Theatre Guild will present "The Eve of Jackie" starring Chester (Chess) Gregory at 7 p.m. April 18 at West Side Theatre, 900 Gerry St., Gary. Gregory, a Gary native and Broadway veteran, starred as Jackie Wilson in the celebrated "The Jackie Wilson Story" written by Chicago's Black Ensemble Theatre founder Jackie Taylor. "The Eve of Jackie" looks at Wilson during his last concert, where he shares his feelings on his life and career. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Lubeznik to host Ronny Cox
Musician/actor/songwriter Ronny Cox will perform at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Lubeznik Center for the Arts, 101 W. Second St., Michigan City. Cox is known for his role as the banjo player in the film "Deliverance" and starred in the television series "Apple's Way," among other projects.
