Artist to show work at Green Door Books

Green Door Books in Hobart will start displaying the work of Jessica Haug-Sigler on Friday.

Jessica Haug-Sigler, the muralist who painted the heron mural in downtown Highland, will be the latest artist to show her work at the new Green Door Used Books and Studio in downtown Hobart.

The independent bookstore 220 Main St. will host Haug-Sigler for an opening reception from 7:30 to 10 p.m. Friday. She's a Highland resident and substitute teacher for the School Town of Highland who does paintings, illustration, portraits and small screen work.

Her work often features nature, including portrayals of fish, birds, wolves and skeletal remains.

The exhibit of her artwork will run through November at the new downtown bookstore. The recently opened Green Door Used Books and Studio is run by an Ivy Tech professor and sells paperbacks for $1.

The reception Friday is free.
