It seems as if there’s always something exciting happening for poker fans at Horseshoe

Casino, proud home of one of the country’s finest dedicated poker rooms.

Now through next Monday it’s the 6th

than $2.5 million in guarantees and $250,000 in added prizes.

The Chicago Poker Classic is an event so spectacular that it is being held inside The

Venue, the property’s 90,000 sq. ft. multi-purpose showroom and exhibition complex.

The tournament, which began on April 29, kicked off with a $350 No-Limit Hold’em Re-

Entry $1-million event, followed by a $500 No-Limit Hold’em Re-Entry event with a $500,000

guaranteed prize pool.

There is plenty of world-class poker action remaining! Event No. 8, the $1,500 No-

Limit Hold’em Main Event, is the second of the $1-million guarantees. The championship

rounds out the series with two starting flights beginning at 12 Noon tomorrow (Fri. May 9)

and Saturday (May 10).

In addition to first prize money (Blake Bohn from Burnsville, MN earned over

$288,000 for his victory last year) the winner will be awarded a $10,000 World Series of

Poker (WSOP) Main Event seat.

This year’s finale features a $1,500 buy-in as opposed to last year’s $3,200. If the

Shoe’s WSOP Circuit Main Event held earlier this year is any indicator, the Chicago Poker

Classic could be huge. A record field of 1,717 entries was recorded for that one which was

won by James Dorrance from Hershey, PA. He earned $418,000.

If that isn’t enough, this weekend’s poker excitement also includes Event No. 9, an

$250 No-Limit Hold’em Re-Entry with a $250,000 guaranteed prize pool and a brand new

2014 Chrysler 300S waiting for the winner to drive home in.

This tournament may have the smallest buy-in, but that quarter of a million dollar

guaranteed pool certainly raises the stakes. There will be five starting flights: Two on

Saturday (May 10) at 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. and three more on Sunday (May 11) at 1:00

p.m., 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

In this event the cash bonus for double qualifiers is $3,500. Just as in the $1-million

opener, the double qualifier who surrenders the most chips earns a $10,000 WSOP Main

Event seat while the players who surrender the second and third most earn $5,000 cash.

Each starting flight pays 10 percent of the field while paying down to four percent.

The added incentive of course is that 2014 Chrysler 300S valued at more than

There is plenty more poker action on tap in addition to the headliners. Event No. 10

is a one-day event set for next Monday (May 12). It’s a $350 No Limit Hold’em Buy-In Mega

Deep Stack Turbo Tournament. Three $10,000 WSOP Main Event Seats have been added to

the prize package.

Visit the Horseshoe this weekend to catch a glimpse of some of the best poker

players in the country. Better yet, take a shot at going for the big money while participating

yourself. Contact the poker room for complete details or visit
