The Hyatt Regency Chicago has an extra reason to celebrate during the holidays.

The hotel, 151 East Wacker Drive, has received the 2012 Better Business Bureau Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics. The Torch Award spotlights companies that exemplify ethical business practices.

And this year, the Better Business Bureau said the 2012 competition had the largest number of nominations and entries with more than 2,060.

The award was one of seven given and was presented to Hyatt Regency Chicago earlier this month.

The judges said: "The Hyatt Regency Chicago had very well documented attention to employee training and cross training. It also included impressive positive feedback from customers about problem resolution and customer service."

Companies are judged in four categories based on number of employees: management practices, community/stakeholder/investment relations, communications and marketing practices, and industry reputation.

Hyatt Regency Chicago ranks as the largest hotel in the Midwest and the largest Hyatt property in the world. It has 2,019 guest rooms, 228,000 square feet of meeting and event space, and six restaurants and lounges. The hotel, along Chicago's Riverwalk, is in the heart of downtown and borders the Magnificent Mile.

The Better Business Bureau is a private, nonprofit organization.
