If you'd like to take a break from kitchen duty this Easter, think about treating your family to a special dinner at a favorite restaurant or banquet facility on April 20, Easter Sunday.

Various restaurants offer special brunches or select menus specifically geared to Easter and the offerings are plentiful. From ham and prime rib displays to egg dishes, lavish salads and decadent desserts, the list of foodstuffs stars something for everyone.

Some of the Easter feasts also feature special events such as appearances by the Easter Bunny or Easter egg hunts. Call your favorite facility for more specifics and head out to the nearest restaurant for your holiday meal.

The following list is merely a sample of Easter menus in the Region. (All feasts will be served on April 20).

Blackstone Woodfire Grill, 7311 Mallard Lane, Schererville. Call (219) 769-0000. The restaurant's regular menu will be served on Easter Sunday. An additional special will also be featured. Call for more specifics on the menu.

Ciao Bella, 1514 U.S. 41, Schererville. Call (219) 322-6800 or visit ciaobellaonline.com. An Easter buffet will be featured from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. On the menu will be an omelet station, carving station, salads, seafood plates, pasta station and assorted fruits and desserts. Cost is $25.99 plus tax and gratuity for adults and $13.95 for children 10 and younger.

Blue Chip Casino, 777 Blue Chip Drive, Michigan City. Visit bluechipcasino.com. At the casino's William B's Steakhouse, an Easter feast will be presented from 4 to 9 p.m. and will include seafood cannelloni, spring green salad, herb roasted rack of lamb and strawberry Napoleon. Cost is $34. Options Buffet will serve from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and feature items such as honey baked smoked ham, roast leg of lamb as well as American, Italian, and Asian specialties. Cost is $24.99 plus tax.

The Center for Visual and Performing Arts, 1040 Ridge Road, Munster. Call (219) 836-1930. The center regularly offers its lavish Sunday brunch between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Call for availability for Easter brunch. Cost is $22.50 for adults; $11.50 for children 4 to 11 and $3 for children younger than 4.

Four Winds Casino, 1111 Wilson Road, New Buffalo, Mich. Call  (866) 4WINDS1 or visit fourwindscasino.com. The Buffet at Four Winds Casino will have its Easter Feast from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Eastern April 20. Cost is $34.

Gino's Steakhouse, 1259 Joliet St., Dyer and 600 E. Lincoln Highway, Merrillville. Call (219) 865-3854 for Dyer and (219) 769-4466. Both locations will have an Easter buffet from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Food offerings: Various starters, including Caprese salad and shrimp cocktail; carving stations; entrees including BBQ Baby Back ribs; chicken Marsala, tilapia fillet lemon and various desserts. Cost is $25 for adults plus tax and gratuity and $14 for children.

Glenwood Oaks Rib and Chop House, 106 N. Main St., Glenwood, Ill. Call (708) 758-4400 or visit glenwoodoaks.com. A special Easter menu will star from noon to 6:30 p.m. The restaurant's usual Champagne Sunday brunch will not be featured. Assorted entree selections will be on the menu. Call for details.

Strongbow Inn, 2405 E. U.S. 30, Valparaiso. Call (219) 462-5121. Featured will be a brunch buffet, which will be served from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Carving stations, breakfast items, desserts and more will be highlighted. Cost is $29.95 for adults; $12.95 for children 9 to 12; $8.95 for children 4 to 8 and free for children 3 and younger.

Teibel's, 1775 U.S. Highway 41, Schererville. Call (219) 865-2000. The restaurant will serve a limited menu for Easter Sunday with a few specials.

T.J. Maloney's Authentic Irish Pub, at Radisson Star Plaza, Interstate 65 and U.S. 30. Call (219) 755-0569. The annual Easter Brunch will be served from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (2 p.m. is the last reservation). On the menu will be carving stations with prime rib and leg of lamb; breakfast foods; dessert display and more. Cost is $29.95 for adults; $24.95 for senior citizens and $15.95 for children; Children 3 and younger eat free.
