With a film like "Gravity," the expectation was that it would clean up in the technical categories like sound, visual effects, cinematography and even Best Editing. Many mistake this category as something that doesn't have long films as nominees, but that's not true. A three-hour movie can fit well here (let's not forget "The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King" was 3 hours, 21 minutes), so it's ironic that "Gravity" is the shortest, at 90 minutes, of this year's nominees. It's hard to fathom it not going home with the trophy.
