In 2005, volunteers raced against the clock to fly thousands of WWII veterans to Washington, D.C. see the memorial constructed for them in 2005, nearly 60 years after their epic struggle.
These flights were called “Honor Flights,” and for the veterans, who are in their late 80s and early 90s, it’s often the first time they’ve been thanked for their service. For some, it is the last trip of their lives.
The documentary focuses on four living World War II veterans and the Midwestern community that banded together to give them the trip of a lifetime.
Join "Honor Flight" photographer Pete Stenberg for this exciting premiere of "Honor Flight: the Movie" on May 21 at AMC's Showplace 12 in Schererville. Visit tugg.com/events/3499 to purchase tickets.
