Swan said "La Boheme" by Giacomo Puccini, is a perfect piece to bring to the New Buffalo Performing Arts Center.
"It's a beautiful theater that seats 500 people with wonderful acoustics and terrific sight lines," he said, of the theater which is housed in a high school.
Swan, who has been performing at Three Oaks' Acorn Theatre as part of their opera series for the past seven years, said this is the first show he's presenting with his newly formed Harbor Country Opera company.
He said cast members of "La Boheme" have vast resumes and have performed in major opera houses around the world.
On stage for this weekend's show, along with Swan, will be Isaac Hurtado, Amy Fuller, Sarah Gartshore and the LaPorte County Symphony conducted by Philip Bauman.
Getting ready for his opera company's presentation of "La Boheme" has been an all-encompassing venture.
