Portage, are you ready to rock?

Ready or not, Rocktoberfest is going to rock out Saturday in downtown Portage.

The 21-and-over rock-and-roll-themed Octoberfest celebration will bring brats, German pretzels and beer to Founders Square Park. Tickets are $5.

Rocktoberfest will run between 5 and 11 p.m. and offer food trucks and a beer garden. Beer vendors will include Sam Adams, Lagunitas, Woodchuck Hard Cider and Miller Lite, according to the Portage Parks & Recreation Department, which is organizing the festival.

Tantrum, which bills itself as a "supergroup of Northwest Indiana musicians" and "a blend of rock, soul, funk and party music," will take the stage at 5 p.m.

At 7 p.m., Mr. Right will play rock covers that runs from the 1980s to current dance hits, "plus some country."

And then at 9 p.m., headliner Breaking Dawn from Crown Point will play rock, classic rock, country and dance music. The group features singer Nekole Muha and experienced musicians who have played with recording artists like Jason Aldean, Big & Rich, Juice Newton, Bullet Boys, Great White and Three Dog Night.
