The long awaited and much anticipated grand opening of Ameristar East Chicago’s land-based high limit room in the property’s pavilion is set for next week.
The $6-million development, the first of its kind in the Region since Indiana approved moving riverboat gaming assets on land adjacent to docks in 2015, will open to the public on Thursday afternoon, May 24.
Construction, which began last January, also included relocating the popular Burger Brothers restaurant into a more high profile location in the pavilion.
The new land-based high limit room occupies 15,000-square-feet of space in an ideal setting to create a Las Vegas style gaming experience.
The exclusive area, which will be accessible via a private entrance, will house 95 slot machines with all new bases and chairs, along with 14 table games, including 12 blackjack and two baccarat tables.
There also will be two food stations and a full-service bar, new audio speakers and HD televisions, a dedicated cage, dedicated MyChoice player’s club rewards center, and private restrooms. Personalized service round-the-clock will be available for the players.
The exclusive high limit table game room that was created on Level-2 of the gaming vessel in November of 2015 will be re-purposed to house 145 new slot machines. The old high limit slot area on Level 3 of the vessel will be transformed into a dedicated video poker area.
The entry way to the high limit room has been designed into a classic promenade, while the furnishings and decorative appointments will be certain to please guests who prefer a high-end gaming experience
Creating an exclusive high limit gaming area takes Ameristar East Chicago to the next level in casino entertainment, not only in Northwest Indiana, but the greater Chicago casino gaming market in general.
A dedicated, private setting to play high stakes blackjack and baccarat, as well as the opportunity to play high-denomination slots and video poker, will have great appeal for the upper echelon gaming demographic not only locally but also among destination travelers.
The property also recently began a multi-million dollar refurbishing of the gaming vessel that is expected to be completed in October, yet another indication that Ameristar East Chicago is intent on expanding its footprint in the Region.
