HAMMOND — A Gary teen accused of breaking into a home this past summer armed with a weapon and robbing a person at gunpoint had his case waived from juvenile to adult criminal court Tuesday.

Charles Randy Moore, 16, of Gary, is charged in Lake Criminal Court with burglary, armed robbery, residential entry and pointing a firearm — all felonies.

Moore allegedly broke into a residence June 12 armed with a deadly weapon with the intent to commit theft. He allegedly stole a woman's iPhone 5, Xbox console and a handgun magazine containing live ammunition, charging documents show.

He pointed a handgun at a woman inside the residence during the robbery.

Moore was initially charged in juvenile court, but such cases can be waived to adult Lake Criminal Court due to the severity of the crime.

An arrest warrant was issued for Moore on Tuesday.
