Homewood-Flossmoor girls golfer Ryann Gilley will team up with her cousin Meg at Southern Illinois.
Ryann Gilley committed to the Salukis and said she will sign her letter of intent today.
"That was part of it and with my aunt and uncle (Linda and Tom Gilley) being so supportive of the program, that also helped," she said of playing on the same team as her cousin. "I really liked the school, the team and the coaches. Everything kind of fell into place."
Meg, a Marian Catholic grad, is a junior.
Ryann finished 32nd individually at this year's Class AA state meet as the Vikings finished second. Last year, they were state champs. Teammates Ashley Armstrong and Michelle Mayer will sign with Notre Dame and Illinois respectively today.
Gilley said SIU has a strong pre-dental program, which also was part of her reason for choosing the Carbondale school.
"Academics is also a big part and it is a good school," she said. "I am excited to have a chance to play in college."

That's my dad: Mt. Carmel running back Mike Banks had a unique perspective at a recent Green Bay Packers-Bears game at Soldier Field.
His dad, Mike, was an official for the Monday night contest.
"It was kind of cool to see my dad out there," Banks said. "You hear people booing a call and you think, 'Hey, that's my dad out there.'"
Save that date: Crete-Monee coach Jerry Verde is hoping to have a conflict on his hands.
If his team can make the Class 6A state finals, it will be a busy day. He is scheduled to get married the evening of Nov. 27.
"One game at a time," Verde said. "We're just thinking about Danville this Saturday."
The state finals are in Champaign and Verde's wedding is in Moline.
