Looking for a progressive dining experience in the Region? Local foodies will want to attend the first area Dishcrawl May 29 in Valparaiso.

Dishcrawl is a national startup which focuses on bringing communities together through food and socializing. Attendees will have the chance to sample four restaurants throughout the course of the evening.

Hoosier native Jennifer Jackson-Outlaw, Dishcrawl's Chicago Brand Ambassador said she's looking forward to bringing the event to the area. "It's an excellent opportunity to highlight the incredible dining choices that await Chicago foodies just beyond the Indiana border," she said.

Burger Month

Hard Rock Cafe at Four Winds Casino in New Buffalo, Mich. is celebrating National Burger Month throughout May. Guests who take a picture of themselves  with a Hard Rock Legendary Burger at Hard Rock Cafe Four Winds and post it via Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #hardrockburger or upload it to will be entered in a contest to win a stay at the all-inclusive Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Punta Cana. Four Winds will also donate $1 to the Food Bank of Northern Indiana, up to $2,000, for every Like the photo gets through May 31. Pastry Chef Submissions

The Chicago Restaurant Pastry Competition is now accepting pastry chef submissions for 2014, Season Three, of the competition themed International Chefs.

The competition is open to any professional pastry chef in a restaurant around the world who can be in Chicago to compete in September. Interested chefs are asked to provide name and contact information as well as business name, short bio, headshot and photo of an original plated dessert. Submission deadline is  midnight on June 10.
