Don't forget Breakfast with Santa
Star Plaza continues its celebration of the holidays with a "Santa Brunch" on Sunday. The event, held in the Celebrity Ballroom, 800 E. 81st Ave., Merrillville, will be offered from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Doors open at 10:15 a.m.
Santa and Mrs. Claus will be special guests at the festive meal. The event is a benefit for the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana. Meal highlights include: a carving station; made-to-order omelets; waffles and French toast; breakfast pastries; three-cheese pasta; crispy chicken tenderloins; various sweets and a chocolate fountain.
Pictures with Santa will also be available for purchase and all children will receive a holiday take-home gift. Guests may enter a drawing for an overnight stay at the Radisson Hotel at Star Plaza.

Holiday Open House
Mrs. Dornberg's Culinary Experience, 2130 45th St., in Porte De L'eau Plaza, in Highland, will present an Open House event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Guests will see demos and get recipes for various holiday appetizers and desserts. Also, patrons can get their kitchen knives sharpened. Cost is $2 per knife. Proceeds will benefit Home Sweet Home Forever Pet Assistance Food Pantry.
