Star Plaza continues its celebration of the holidays with a "Santa Brunch" on Dec. 16. The event, held in the Celebrity Ballroom, 800 E. 81st Ave., Merrillville, will be offered from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Doors open at 10:15 a.m.
Santa and Mrs. Claus will be special guests at the festive meal. The event is a benefit for the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana. Meal highlights include: a carving station; made-to-order omelets; waffles and French toast; breakfast pastries; three-cheese pasta; crispy chicken tenderloins; various sweets and a chocolate fountain.
Pictures with Santa will also be available for purchase and all children will receive a holiday take-home gift. Guests may enter a drawing for an overnight stay at the Radisson Hotel at Star Plaza.

Santa at St. Catherine's
St. Catherine Hospital, 4321 Fir St., East Chicago, will have its "Breakfast with Santa" from 8 to 11 a.m. Dec. 15.
Admission is $5 per child and one gift per family wrapped with a label for age and gender. Proceeds will benefit the Carmelite Home in East Chicago. The home was founded 100 years ago as an orphanage but is now a residential treatment center for infants through 18 years old. FYI: (219) 392-7009
Festive Meal with St. Nick
The Lake Station Boys & Girls Club will have its sixth annual "Breakfast with Santa" from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the club, 4700 Central Ave. in Lake Station. An all-you-can-eat meal of pancakes, eggs and sausage will be featured.
Santa will be in attendance. Also featured will be a 300-foot holiday train, animated winter wonderland, free craft table for kids, cake walk and holiday raffle. Free photos with Santa will be available from Eaton's Photography. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for ages 3 to 12. FYI: (219) 963-9200
Breakfast with Santa
Join with family and friends at "Breakfast with Santa" Dec. 9 at St. Kevin Church Hall, 10509 S. Torrence Ave., Chicago. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and features breakfast, raffles, door prizes and pictures with Santa.
