If you're making plans to attend Taste of Chicago next week, don't miss the cooking demonstrations presented daily at the event.

The Dominick's Cooking Corner will feature presentations by chefs from a variety of restaurants and businesses. Among the demo presenters will be chef Gloria Hafer of Chicago's Southeast Side and her class of students from the After School Matters program. Hafer and the kids will appear at 1:30 p.m. July 11.

Other chefs scheduled to present demos will be Rick Bayless of Frontera Grill at 2:30 p.m. July 10; Tony Priolo of Piccolo Sogno at 12:30 p.m. July 11; Shelley Young of The Chopping Block at 11:30 a.m. July 13; pastry chef Gale Gand at 2:30 p.m. July 13; and Paul Kahan of The Publican at 2:30 p.m. July 14.

Grilling Experts

LongHorn Steakhouse recently presented the LongHorn Grill Us Hotline. The hotline will be available through July 6 during the hours of 2 to 7 p.m. Eastern.

Manning the hotline will be 25 grill masters from the national restaurants, including Kerri Resmeyer and Jason Taliaferro of Northwest Indiana. The experts are equipped to answer a variety of questions from choosing the best cut of meat to giving information on correct grill temperatures and seasoning advice.

Chipotle Mexican Grill will celebrate its 20th anniversary this month with a schedule of special events. The festivities and contests begin July 13 and run through Aug. 1.

Included will be a treasure hunt titled "Adventurrito," allowing participants to take part in a series of online puzzles and daily prizes. The ultimate grand prize will be free burritos for 20 years.
