Crown Point Oktoberfest

Mayor David Uran of Crown Point and Crown Brewing have announced the upcoming sixth annual Oktoberfest from 3 to 11 p.m. Saturday on South Main Street. Featured will be a Chili Cook-Off, various food for purchase, live entertainment, bean bag tournament and more. FYI: (219) 661-2271

Chili Cooks in Munster

The Munster Chamber of Commerce will have its Touchdown Chili Challenge from 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 7 at The Center for Visual and Performing Arts, 1040 Ridge Road in Munster. Admission is $10. Autumn Fest Chili Contest

The 2nd annual Lansing Autumn Fest Chili Cookoff will be at 2 p.m. Oct. 13 in downtown Lansing. First place winner will receive a $100 cash prize and entry into the ICS Chilly Willie Chili Challenge in Orland Hills. For more information, visit

Wine Dinner

Asparagus restaurant, 7876 Broadway, will have a "Wine Pairing Dinner" featuring Hartford Family Wines Oct. 17. Cost is  $55 for a four-course dinner and wines. FYI: (219) 794-0000.

NFL-Themed Festivities and Game Day Menu

T.J. Maloney's Authentic Irish Pub at Radisson Star Plaza, 800 E. 81st Ave., Merrillville, presents its "NFL Ticket" allowing patrons to watch every minute of every NFL game on all game days on either its 102" screen or in front of nine flat-screen TVs.

Game Day food specials and Craft Beer specials are also featured.
