Sage Restaurant in Chesterton celebrated its grand opening and ribbon cutting event Jan. 31.

The restaurant, owned by Joe and Melissa Gaal, features fusion American-Italian cuisine. Joe Gaal serves as executive chef of the eatery while Renie Moseley is the sous chef.

Heart-shaped pizzas

In honor of February as American Heart Month, Boston's Restaurant & Sports Bar, 625 W. U.S. 30, in Schererville will serve its signature heart-shaped pizzas Feb. 11 to 14.

The restaurant will also donate $1 to the cardiovascular research program of Community Healthcare System for every medium or large pizza sold through Feb. 26. Diners will also have the opportunity to purchase paper hearts for $1 each. FYI: (219) 864-1377 or visit www.bostonsgourmet.com

Don't forget Star Plaza's Super Bash

There's still time to plan to attend the Super Bowl party at T.J. Maloney's at Star Plaza, 800 E. 81st Ave. in Merrillville.

The Irish pub-themed restaurant will present its "Pig Roast Blowout" on Super Bowl Sunday Feb. 5. The party starts at 2 p.m. with kickoff at 5:30 p.m.

There will be free general admission into the party. Cost for the roast pig buffet is $9.95 and includes roast pig, poblano cornbread, smokehouse beans and potato hash. Appetizers for $5 include loaded nachos, boneless chicken wings, Chicago hot dogs and fries, chicken quesadillas and more.

A beer trailer will feature $3 Miller Lite and Coors Light drafts as well as $8 64-ounce pitchers of domestic beer; $10 buckets of Three Floyds, $4 mimosas and other selections.

Two VIP sections will be featured in front of the stage and facing the big screen. Cost for eight people per section is $100, all-inclusive.
