Aurelio's pizza fans will want to taste the company's latest creations. On Saturday, the Homewood-based company will premiere the Mac and Cheese Pizza and the Cheeseburger Pizza.

The debut of the pizzas will be the first two in a series of six to debut two at a time. They'll be available for two-month periods. The Mac and Cheese Pizza was created by 37-year Aurelio's employee Jeff Binette, who is the general manager of Aurelio's in Homewood. The creation blends mozzarella and cheddar cheese, mostaccioli noodles, bacon and Alfredo sauce.

The Cheeseburger Pizza was created by six-year Aurelio's employee Dylan Kulikowski, who is a kitchen manager at Aurelio's Pizza Hobson West in Naperville, Ill. It stars a blend of cheddar cheese, ground beef, onion, chopped pickle spears, and a ketchup and mustard sauce. FYI:

Grand Opening Celebration

New 'Check, Please!' Host

The voting process is complete and the new host of WTTW's popular restaurant show "Check, Please!' has been chosen. The series will premiere its 13th season in October with new host Catherine De Orio at the helm.

De Orio, who grew up in an Italian family in a suburb of Chicago, attended the culinary school at Kendall College and is a food and travel writer and dining trends consultant. FYI:

Pastry Chef Submissions

The Chicago Restaurant Pastry Competition is now accepting pastry chef submissions for 2014, Season Three, of the competition themed International Chefs.

The competition is open to any professional pastry chef in a restaurant around the world who can be in Chicago to compete in September. Interested chefs are asked to provide name and contact information as well as business name, short bio, headshot and photo of an original plated dessert. Submission deadline is  midnight on June 10.
