If you'd like to sample varied cuisine from the area, plan to visit the 39th annual Arts and Crafts Festival and Taste of the Region from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. today in Crown Point.

Thirty restaurants and caterers will set up their fare along streets surrounding the  Old Lake County Courthouse while more than 80 arts and crafts vendors display wares on the courthouse lawn. A beer garden, live entertainment, kid's activities and more will also be featured. FYI: Visit

Blending Sweet Ingredients

Cook-Off for Cancer

The Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation will have its first "Cook-Off for Cancer" from 6 to 10 p.m. Aug. 14 at Cafe Brauer in Chicago. The event will feature ballpark fare prepared by famed Chicago chefs and served by members of the Chicago Cubs.

Guests will vote on favorite dishes by tipping Cubs servers. Tips and proceeds will benefit pediatric cancer research, care and support. FYI: Visit
