Whether buying or selling a home, you’re making an important decision that will likely have a significant impact on your life. Putting the right knowledge, resources and support on your side can help ensure a great experience.
A consistent market leader, RE/MAX was the brand most often mentioned first when survey respondents were asked to name real estate companies without being presented a list of names, giving it the highest top-of-mind awareness.
“Because RE/MAX agents sell more real estate than agents with any other brand, it’s not surprising that RE/MAX is first and foremost in the minds of home buyers and sellers,” RE/MAX CEO Margaret Kelly said. “Our outstanding agents, supported by an extensive advertising campaign and our very popular red, white and blue balloon have created a winning formula for brand recognition.”
RE/MAX has a strong presence in Indiana, providing residential and commercial real estate services to consumers from South Bend to Evansville. Since its inception in 1987, RE/MAX of Indiana has grown to more than 85 offices with more than 1,200 sales associates throughout the state.
Those numbers are about to change, with 8 agents from Porter County recently announcing they have joined forces with RE/MAX Realty Associates in Munster and the offices of Donna and Roger Pace converting to RE/MAX Pace Realty with 53 sales associates in Crown Point, Winfield and Valparaiso.
“Our previous brand served us well, but for the future, we realized the need to realign ourselves with the nation’s leading real estate brand,” Roger Pace said. “After extensive research we determined that the RE/MAX brand is more aligned with our company’s agent centric philosophy.”
“I’m thrilled to welcome Roger and Donna Pace to the RE/MAX family,” Herm Hoge, who with his wife Kris is Broker/Owner of the RE/MAX Realty Associates office in Munster serving Lake and Porter counties in northwest Indiana plus Chicago’s south suburbs in Illinois. “All of these new agents are definitely great for the brand, we’ll have even more market presence in the local market.”
Along with the benefits of brand awareness, Hoge points to the convenience of having all three entities that are a part of every real estate transaction conveniently located within the RE/MAX Realty Associates regional headquarters.
“We have agents who specialize in different areas – north Lake County, south Lake County, Porter County and Illinois,” he added. “But, the truth of the matter is that we all work throughout the region. We’re the home base for agents. The fact that we have a fantastic support staff and utilize cutting-edge technology allows us to work more effectively, giving us the opportunity to be more productive. The fact that we have affiliated businesses, Prospect Mortgage and Region Title under the same roof, as well as partnerships with Fidelity Title and Chicago Title, means we offer fantastic service – a one-stop shop so to speak – that’s incredibly convenient for both our agents and their clients.”
“It’s great to get an answer right away when I have a title issue,” Michelle Cowling, who has been a real estate agent for almost 16 years and with RE/MAX Realty Associates for 12, said. “I wanted an atmosphere where I was surrounded by other professionals in real estate, where the technology was more advanced to help me run my business better.”
Denise O’Connor, who has been a real estate agent for 17 years and joined RE/MAX Realty Associates just six weeks ago, agrees.
“I like the fact that they are very agent-driven and promote remote agents,” she said. “It’s important for me to be out in the field with my people. They have everything in place, online deposits for earnest money, an enhanced listings hub, secretarial support. It’s a good system. I’m very excited!”
Noting that the market is super strong right now, O’Connor is surprised when she hears people say homes are not selling.
“It surprises me. In the latest report, Lake County is up 21 percent in units sold over last year and Porter County is up 18 percent,” she added. “I’ve been very busy since last October and very pleased to be. We actually need more houses to sell. Market time is down to three months. That’s cutting the National Association of REALTORS® average of six months in half.”
When John Consier joined RE/MAX Realty Associates 20 years ago, he was tired of “floor people” taking his leads.
“I deal with a lot of new construction,” he explained. “When the homes sell, I keep the sign up for people interested in building something similar. My calls, potential leads, were going to any agent available at the time. I like the fact that you can run your own business with RE/MAX. Full time agents want to take their own calls.”
A licensed real estate agent since 2001, David Whitehead has been a RE/MAX agent for a year and a half and also joined RE/MAX Realty Associates six weeks ago.
“I like being with a national brand,” he said. “When you walk into a listing or buyer presentation, everybody knows RE/MAX. When I first joined the company, I got a phone call from someone who said, ‘I see you’re with RE/MAX. You must be good. Can you list my house? That call confirmed I had made the right decision.”
