Emeril's Kitchen on QVC

Just in time for the holidays, Chef Emeril Lagasse is ready to kick it up a notch in the QVC kitchen. The chef will make an appearance during the "Emeril's Kitchen" broadcast beginning at midnight Eastern time Dec. 4 and continuing throughout the day on QVC. Lagasse will showcase new and favorite items in his collection of cookware.

Holiday Tea Time

An Afternoon Tea event will be featured from noon to 3 p.m. Dec. 7 at Trinity Church Bishop's Mansion, 614 Franklin St., Michigan City. Featured will be bite-size sandwiches, holiday scones, traditional cakes, pastries and chocolates. Hot punch will also be served. Tickets are $7 for adults; $3 for children under 12 and free for children under 6. Call the church at (219) 874-4355.

Ethiopian Holiday Party

Ethiopian Diamond will have a Holiday Party at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 4 at the restaurant, 6120 N. Broadway, Chicago. The party is co-sponsored by ChicagoGourmets. Owner/chef Almaz Yigizaw will offer a variety of dishes including Yenisit Azifa salad, Sambusas, Shrimp Alicha, Gomen and more. Homemade honey wine will also be served. Cost is $59. Customer Appreciation Party

O'Donovan's Pub and Restaurant, 2100 W. Irving Park Road, Chicago, will have its Holiday Customer Appreciation Party from 7 to 9 p.m. Dec. 12 at the restaurant. O'Donovan's general manager is Frankie Zela, a native of Calumet City and executive chef is Victor DeLeon, a native of Chicago's Southwest Side. Complimentary cocktails and various appetizers will be served. Suggested admission  is $10 which will benefit Christopher House, an organization which helps at risk children from birth to age 18.
