Taltree Arboretum and Gardens, 71 N. 500 West, will offer the following classes. Join other gardeners and non-gardeners who are looking for opportunities to exchange ideas, learn about new plants and techniques, and maintain a beautiful and diverse environment.
* 9 to 10:30 a.m. Feb. 20 -- Living with the weather and lake effect in Northwest Indiana.
* 1 to 4 p.m. Feb. 20 -- Learn the details involved in installing new landscaping around the home.
Class size is limited, register early -- unless otherwise noted, classes are held in Taltree's classroom, 71 N. 500 West. Cost for classes is $15 for non-members and $12 for Taltree members.

ENGAGE WITH ARTIFACTS | Chicago
Visit Frank Lloyd Wright’s Robie House for a fascinating look at architecture and design through the lens of an historic book and architectural fragments with Engage with Artifacts, a new program introduced by the Frank Lloyd Wright Preservation Trust at 9 a.m. March 21 at 5757 S. Woodlawn Ave. Explore the first edition of Owen Jones' famous illustrated text, the 1856 Grammar of Ornament, a work that inspired and intrigued generations of artists and architects, including Frank Lloyd Wright. Then examine two highly ornamented architectural fragments from two of Wright's early designs: facades from both the Francis Apartment Building (1895) in Chicago and the Dana Thomas House (1902) in Springfield. Advance ticket purchase is required and available at GoWright.org. Admission is $65 for Preservation Trust members and $75 non-members.

FLOWER & GARDEN SHOW | Chicago
The 16th annual Chicago Flower & Garden Show will take place March 6 to 14 at Navy Pier. Live demonstrations will be presented several times daily by Chicago Botanic Garden experts. Plant doctors offer free expert advice and a wide selection of books on regional gardening will be for sale. Cost is $15 on weekdays and $17 on weekends. Children (ages 4 to 12) are admitted for $5.
