If you're tired of winter and the snow and slush, take heart. This weekend is the 15th annual Lake County Home and Outdoor Living Show at Lake County Fairgrounds in Crown Point and it promises to be your one-stop source for all your spring home improvement and renovation projects and questions.
According to show manager Dan Maurer, this year's show in the Industrial Arts Building, will feature all the home building, renovating products and services you need to maintain and improve your living quarters inside and out.
"There will be about 110 total booths featuring a showcase for garden furniture, landscaping products and equipment, water features, interior designs, landscaping, pond displays, decorative lighting arrangements, patios and decks, food booths and more," Maurer said. "Also we are featuring the Midwest Bargain Bazaar (an indoor flea market extravaganza featuring everything from food to collectibles) which will be in the 4-H Building."
At one of the booths Matt Bailey, who owns Bailey's Discount Center in North Judson with his brother Mark, will be featuring their kitchen and bathroom cabinets and countertops. Bailey's Cabinets is just a part of the discount center at 5900 S. Range Road. Just about everything is for sale in the 200,000 -square-foot center. They also have 10 rental shops in the foyer, a Dairy Queen-Orange Julius located in the building, air conditioning and a large expo center.
"We will have a couple of complete kitchen and bathrooms set up at the show," Bailey said. "We are a kitchen and bathroom distributor and the largest Haas Cabinet dealer in the Midwest. We fabricate our own countertops and have eight designers on staff."

Although several landscaping companies have booths, this is not a garden show but will feature more on outdoor living than flowers.
One of the booths is Patio Enclosures, Inc. which has its showroom at 8901 West 192nd St. Suite A. in Mokena, Ill.
"Our focus is sun rooms, solariums and retractable awnings," manager Jack McNellis said. " We are also doing some work with windows and basement finishing systems made up of recycled pop and water bottles to make the basement mold proof."
