Garden Walk and Free Bazaar | Crete
The Crete Garden Walk and Free Bazaar, A Day in the Country, will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 21 and 22, rain or shine. Tour gardens, enjoy a buffet luncheon in the country club dining room, and shop the garden bazaar on the shaded front lawn of the club. Discuss "What's Bugging You?" (A Greener Alternative) with Illinois Master Gardeners. Advance tickets for the walk and luncheon are $25; walk only, $10 (day of walk $12). Tickets may be purchased at Ace Hardware in Walt's Plaza, Crete Township Hall in Crete, Finishing Touch Florist in Crete, Santa Fe Nursery on Crete-Monee Road and Smit's Farms in Sauk Village. The all-inclusive, escorted bus tour tickets are $40. These may be purchased at Crete Township Hall. Ticket order forms are available on the website.

Porter County Garden Walk | Valparaiso
A garden walk is from 9 a.m to 4 p.m. July 17 sponsored by the Master Gardeners Association and Purdue Extension, Porter County. Nine locations in and around Valparaiso/Porter County feature petite, in-town reprieves to acreages of trees, flowers and vegetable gardens. Tickets in advance are $6 available at these Valparaiso locations: Town & Country Market; Windy Ridge Farms; Four Seasons Landscaping Nursery; Horses Landscaping & Garden Center; Jake's Feed & Garden; Reed's Nursery & Garden Center; Samuelson's Nursery; Porter County Extension Office and at Chesterton Feed & Garden Center and at Kouts True Value Hardware. Tickets day of walk are $8 at the Garden of Heroes, Hayes Leonard Elementary School, 653 Hayes Leonard Road, Valparaiso. Begin walk between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Secret Gardens Tour | Gary
The Miller Garden Club, formed in 1998 in the Miller Beach section of Gary, is holding its 11th annual "Secret Gardens" tour. "Fine & Sandy," will begin at the Aquatorium in Marquette Park, 7500 Oak Ave. The tours are from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., rain or shine, July 17 and 18. Free bus transportation will be provided from the Aquatorium to each garden site but will end at 2 p.m. Tickets are $8. Box lunches from the Miller Bakery Cafe will be available. A wide variety of vendors will also be at the Aquatorium. There will be a bike tour at 10:30 a.m. July 17. The Miller Garden Club is a nonprofit organization. Proceeds from this event will be used to beautify public lands in Gary and the Miller area.
