Just in time for a fall refurbishing, Indiana Furniture, a local member of Furniture First National Buying Cooperative, is participating in the group’s first National Furniture Sale, on now through Sunday, Sept. 29.

“Indiana Furniture is a member of the buying cooperative, so a lot of the vendors we carry are giving us discounts for the sale period, which we’re passing along to the consumer,” said Ashley Miller at Indiana Furniture in Valparaiso.

Customers will find items on sale throughout the store, including living room, dining, bedrooms, mattresses and reclining furniture.

“We’ve also found other vendors that have allowed us to put together whole room vignettes, right down to the rugs, so that when you walk through the door, along with lots of other items you’re going to find complete looks throughout the store. You can choose a complete, expertly designed look, or see what inspires to create and reflect your own style,” said Miller.

Miller said this is the perfect time to select a fresh look for fall and into winter, “whether it’s something like a new pillow for an accent color, a few great accessories, or a whole room for relaxing or entertaining.” Miller added that a sure-fire way of pulling together a look is to select a rug and design around those colors.

Miller said customers can expect to find furniture styles from a variety of respected brand names, including northwest Indiana’s largest Flexsteel gallery, with pieces in built-to-last construction in designs for every home. Great rest makes for a great day: a Simmons Beautyrest gallery includes its Pocketed Coil Technology support system. There will be a big line of La-Z-Boy furniture, “not just for reclining anymore,” said Miller. There are sofas and more in selections ranging from casual comfort to show-it-off style.

Miller sounds excited about the addition of two more companies to Indiana Furniture’s showroom. “We’re offering two new companies; one is Simply Amish -- it’s absolutely beautiful. There are pieces in new and exciting designs that reflect a tradition of fine craftsmanship. Our other brand-new offering is Bernhardt furniture, it’s such a wonderful collection of living room sets, bedroom sets, accessories -- you can choose a statement piece in a truly unique style, or a roomful of Bernhardt; you just can’t go wrong.

“Our mission is to invite every community member, customer and associate into our family through a mutually rewarding experience.”

The National Furniture Sale incorporates customer financing, allowing customers to take advantage of the discounted prices to complete their décor.

Indiana Furniture has been a member of Furniture First since 2010. In a press release, Furniture First said it is a cooperative of 206 family-owned furniture retailers. “The stores work together as a group to bring outstanding values and exclusive products to their communities,” the press release stated. “Because the independent, family-owned furniture stores work together, they can negotiate deals to rival larger corporate retail chain stores and boost the furniture values these community retailers offer.”

At Indiana Furniture in Valparaiso, “We are dedicated to exceed expectations by providing a genuine value, high-quality furnishings, and unmatched customer service through commitment, integrity and trust," said Miller.

Miller said she likes the idea of freshening rooms for fall. “I like this so much: ‘Fall in love with your rooms again!’ You’ll find great prices on lamps, coffee tables, sofas and whole room vignettes -- everything you need.”
