With our long winter seemingly coming to an end, the beginning of spring is the time to take stock of our house and decide what needs to be updated and redone.
And what better place to find inspiration than at the upcoming 36th Annual Porter County Home and Lifestyle Show with its offerings of new opportunities and choices for home and garden projects this spring. The show, held at the Porter County Expo Center in Valparaiso this coming weekend, is a great way of connecting consumers with exhibitors.
Our home and lifestyle show is perfect both for those who are just looking or have a definite project in mind said Vicky Gadd, executive officer, Home Builders Association of Northwest Indiana (HBA of NWI) noting there will be a wide selection of exhibitors attending, featuring their goods such as kitchens, flooring, doors, windows, wall coverings, bathrooms, patios, cabinetry, furniture refinishers, landscaping and yard equipment, window treatments and what you need for backyard living.
“You can talk to experts about any of your home ideas and needs,” said Gadd. “We have experts representing Northwest Indiana’s home improvement and building industry along with small business specialists who offer a wide range of products and services.”
The show is designed to showcase new home products, introduce new trends in decorating and design and highlight the latest in such areas as energy efficiency, home security, heating and cooling options, remodeling ideas and how to beautify living spaces both indoors and out. With the advantage of meeting with the experts in person (bring photos of problem areas), it’s easier for house owners to get the answers they need, learn how to add value to their homes and provide inspiration for do-it-yourselfers as well as find out what’s cutting-edge in home entertainment systems, storage, sunrooms, decks and patios.
New this year is the Kids’ Korner with a bounce house, photo booth, face painting and a LEGO building contest so kids can enjoy themselves while parents peruse the exhibits. Leroy’s Hot Stuff will be on site serving both snacks and meals.
“We’re very excited about offering a lot of fun activities for kids,” said Gadd. “That way the entire family can come and enjoy the day here.”
