When it comes to meeting the demands of an increasingly active real estate market, Jeff and Trinity McCormick recognize that their clients always have a number of options to choose from when it comes to buying and selling homes in Northwest Indiana.

“We have always operated under the team concept in order to provide the best possible customer service to our clients,” Trinity McCormick, who is currently serving her second term on the Greater Northwest Indiana Association of REALTORS® explained. “As a result, we’re all specialists, and everyone has a role on each transaction. Jeff has a degree in finance and started out in the mortgage business. I oversee the seller’s listings, handling all short sales, foreclosures/REO and estate transactions, and we have a great group of buyer’s agents as well as licensed and unlicensed support staff including a client care coordinator, marketing specialist and an in-house processor to support our team and free them up.”
Having assisted hundreds of families since first becoming an independent RE/MAX team in 2003 and opening their own franchise office, RE/MAX Integrity Group, in 2008, the McCormicks are dedicated professionals as well as experts in the local marketplace. As a result, they recently took the next step in their real estate careers and established the McCormick Real Estate brand, opening a brand new office to better serve their loyal clients and welcome new ones to the family as well.
“We’re one of the youngest teams in local real estate, and we are consistently ranked among the top teams in Northwest Indiana as well as the state of Indiana,” Jeff McCormick said. “We take great pride in coming up with new ideas and value education immensely. Now conveniently located at 813 N. Superior Drive in Crown Point, McCormick Real Estate now has plenty of room to grow while meeting the needs of their expanding client base.
“We are devoted to assisting our clients with all their real estate needs,” Trinity McCormick explained. “All of the real estate teams working here are family – husband and wife, father and daughter, sister and brother – and we are always thinking about the families we serve. One example that comes to mind is our playroom that’s connected to the conference room so children can be entertained and parents can keep an eye on them when they are meeting with us in our office.”
With so many home buyers searching for the right opportunity to meet their needs this spring, McCormick Real Estate has also been busy helping sellers price and prepare their properties for sale.
“Right now we’re seeing buyers anxious to make their move while interest rates remain low,” Jeff McCormick added. “Unfortunately, we don’t always have a lot options available to show them that meet their specific criteria. We would certainly like to see more properties on the market to help meet the demand in our area. Once we get a new listing, there’s definitely activity on it right away.”
In addition to buying and selling homes, rentals and rent-to-own are another specialty of McCormick Real Estate.
“We are able to help buyers in need of down payment assistance when they are ready to purchase a home, however there are people who need to rent for any number of reasons,” Trinity McCormick said. “Because of this, we get referrals from other agents who don’t know how or want to deal with them.”
“Over the last five years or so the need for rental homes has grown significantly,” Jeff McCormick explained. “What we’ve found is that people who want to live in this area generally prefer to have a home of their own with some space as opposed to renting in an apartment building. I actually personally started purchasing and rehabbing homes in disrepair to help meet the need.”
For about eight years now, the McCormicks have found that rehabbing homes is a win-win situation for both the neighborhoods where they buy and the people who then rent or rent-to-own the homes.
“A little while ago I was talking to someone at my church, and we discovered that we were both interested in the same kind of work – getting residential properties back on the market for renters and/or buyers,” Jeff McCormick added. “After a few conversations, we agreed that it would be easier to take things to the next level with a partner.”
As a result, Jeff McCormick and Brent Burnett recently established the Restoration Property Group and look forward to purchasing and rehabbing homes that have fallen into disrepair.
“We serve clients in seven counties so the skies the limit,” he said. “But for right now we’re primarily focusing on neighborhoods in Lake County.”
