Moving into a new home is the perfect opportunity to express your personal style – without changing a thing. Starting today through next Sunday, the HBA Parade of Homes is a perfect opportunity to find the right builder for you – whether you’re looking to get started with a completely blank slate or hoping to find the new home of your dreams already complete.

“The Parade is a great time to get out and see the finished product,” Dave Gring of Steiner Homes said. “You can determine an awful lot from all the different floor plans and design standards. You can also learn about Parade specials. When you sign with Steiner Homes on or before June 30th, you’ll receive free granite countertops in the kitchen.”

Starting with a long list of included standard features both inside and out, every Steiner-built home gives the buyer the freedom to choose whatever they like.

“A few of our standard features that really stand out for most people include a lot of three-fourth inch tongue-in-groove oak hardwood flooring, our trim package with high base trim throughout the main floor, handmade columns and drywall arches, high-profile headers over the main floor doors and windows, a big selection of colors and styles from Kraftmaid®, Kemper® or Quality® maple cabinets and our open floor plans that really focus on the movement from one room to another,” Gring said. “This year, I think our Parade homes really show a great range of the selections for these features as well as a number of unique details.”

Starting with the Alexandria at 1354 Tuscany Drive in Valparaiso, where you’ll get a great feel for Steiner’s signature craftsman-style architecture in a 3,582-sq-ft two-story with four bedrooms and three and a half baths. This plan’s base price is $299,900, and the Parade home is available for $429,000 (including Tuscany lot and custom detail).

“This particular home has a beautiful vaulted great room with a massive wall of windows so the back of the house is sun-drenched,” Gring explained. “The master suite spans the whole left side of the upper level with a private sitting area, large bath and walk-in closet. The kitchen has a large nook, and there’s also an extended stone fireplace, screened-in patio and daylight basement.”

Then, there’s the Jackson at 321 W. Ridgeview Drive in Valparaiso. Adding an arts and craft touch, this exquisite ranch home has 2,675-sq-ft, 3 bedrooms and three baths. The base price of this plan is $235,900, and the Parade home is available for $324,900 (including Sagamore lot and custom detail).

“This particular ranch home features a vaulted ceiling in the great room, butcher block island in the kitchen plus 36 inch cabinets and 12” x 24” tile in the master bath,” Gring added. “It’s actually one of two very different split ranch plans we have available right now. The Larson at 8412 Willowhaven Drive in The Gates of St. John is about 50% complete. It’s similar in size with a different flow and front elevation.”

Steiner’s third Parade home is the Emma at 1100 Ziegfield Court in Crown Point. Featuring classic Americana architecture with a covered front porch, this home is 4,124-sq-ft with five bedrooms and three and a half baths. With a base price of $305,900, this particular home is available for $498,500 (including Ellendale Farm lot and custom detail).

“There’s a lot of “wow” in this home that features a fantastic walk-out basement,” Gring said. “From the two-story foyer and great room with an extended mantel and built-in shelving to the handmade cabinets and huge island in the kitchen and the main floor master suite with spacious bath plus his and her walk-in closets.”

While Gring always enjoys meeting all the people who come out to see Steiner’s latest homes during the Parade, his favorite part of the process is sitting down with them one on one to discuss how Steiner can customize a home for them.

“Whether they have a location in mind or are just getting started searching for the right home site, we are here to help,” he said. “I’m really proud of the service and attention the entire team - from all the different departments of Steiner Homes - provides. There’s Dan Steiner who personally goes out and looks at different lots for you, Adam Steiner who fine tunes all the drawings until they meet the needs of every buyer, interior designer Jessica deKock who guides them through the selection process, the building project manager who walks them through all the critical points and is available to answer any questions at any time, and Val Steiner who is there to make sure everything goes smoothly at closing.”
