American Greyhound will participate in the Freezin' for a Reason Polar Bear Plunge event along Lake Michigan on Jan. 1. Donations are being accepted. The group also is inviting anyone who would like to join American Greyhound to participate in the Polar Bear Plunge.
FONDUE EVENT | Merrillville
The Humane Society of Northwest Indiana will host "TGIF: Thank Goodness It's Fondue!" from 6 to 10 p.m. Jan. 21 at the Service Doctor, 5150 E. U.S. 30, Merrillville. The fundraiser will feature Chef John Rooney's fondue, as well as cheese, chocolate, vegetables, silent auction baskets, a raffle and pets up for adoption. Cost is $35 in advance, $40 at the door.
