If you haven’t made plans for Saturday yet, check out some of the fun events going on in my neighborhood and beyond.

You can put together a team of trivia buffs and head to St. Florian in Chicago’s Hegewisch neighborhood.

They are hosting a trivia night Saturday in the school gymnasium, 131st and Houston Avenue. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and games start at 7 p.m. Admission is $10 per person, and top teams will win cash prizes.

For more information, email oliojoel@yahoo.com.

Before trivia night, you can grab a bite to eat as the Knights of Columbus, General Pulaski Council 3323, host a spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at St. Columba Social Center, 13323 S. Greenbay Ave. in Chicago’s Hegewisch neighborhood.

It’s $8 for adults and $5 for children 10 and younger. Meal includes all-you-care-to-eat spaghetti with meat sauce, meatballs, salad, bread and dessert.

If you feel like getting out of the city, head to Cowtober Fest from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday at Fair Oaks Farms, 850 N 600 E in Fair Oaks, Ind.

Stopping by the farm is always fun for little and big kids, and this event looks adorable. As a side note, if you stop in the dairy store, I recommend the butterkase cheese. I tried it for the first time this weekend and am wishing I bought a larger hunk of it.

At Cowtober fest, kids can play carnival games, test their apple bobbing skills and visit the pumpkin patch. A Halloween costume parade is at 3 p.m. for ages 3 to 12.

Adults can peruse craft vendors and enjoy live entertainment. At 6 p.m., they will begin haunted hay rides for $5 per person.

Finally, I’d like to give another shout out to LARC and the group’s upcoming fish fry. I had the date wrong in my last column so here’s the correct information.

It will take place from 4 p.m. to midnight Nov. 9 at the workshop, 19043 Wentworth Ave. in Lansing. I know they’d love to see you there as they serve up delicious perch, shrimp and chicken strips catered by Glenwood Oaks.
